TK60 JACKING LUBRICANT

Prevention Is Better Than Cure

“It is better to avoid foam creation than to rely on post treatment. For example: Edit the slurry system end to end and eliminate all unnecessary sources of surface agitation which tend to give rise to foam. Where possible, extend slurry dis-chages under surface. Check and externally seal any pipe joints which might be pulling in air. Identify, and if possible prevent, any unnecessary admixture of waste or other chemicals into the slurry. Com-plex and random mixtures of  substances encourage surface tension and foaming.”

High performance super-concentrated drilling formula

What Is It

TK60 Jacking Lubricant is a high performance super-concentrated drilling formula, pre-formulated, pipejacking lubricant.

What Does It do

TK60 Jacking Lubricant reduces clay swelling, reduces jacking load, helps to maintain annulus integrity and resists migration into porous ground as well as being bentonite free and environmentally friendly.

What Are The Benefits

One pack product, Bentonite free, Easy and quick to measure and mix, Resists migration into porous ground. Effective in all ground types – except saline (for saline conditions use Seajack)

Features and Benefits

Silicon-based defoaming agent

Add up to 0.1 % to the slurry to reduce foaming.

For best effect, spray a weak solution on to the foam.

Do not over-treat , this may worsen the problem.

NB Defoamers in slurry are short-term remedies. Always look for the underlying cause of foaming, e.g. air getting into the slurry; choice of slurry additives.

(PDS revision 1)

ANTIFOAM is specifically formulated to disrupt and control unwanted foam development in water-based geotechnical slurry systems.

Specific benefits

  • Effective at low concentrations.
  • Not classified as hazardous.
  • Easy to use.
  • To be diluted 9:1 with water before application for maximum economy.

Packaging

25 kg kegs. 1000 litre IBC’s.

How To Use

For maximum efficiency and economy we recommend the antifoam be diluted with water before use, in the ratio of one part of ANTIFOAM to nine parts water. The quantity of antifoam required can only be found by experiment. In general between 0.1 and 0.5 litres of original concentrate will be required per cubic metre of slurry, depending on foam persistence. Use sparingly. Apply to foam mass as required, using a horticultural spray pack or similar.

Add up to 0.1 % to the slurry to reduce foaming. Do not over-treat , this may worsen the problem.

NB Defoamers in slurry are short-term remedies. Always look for the underlying cause of foaming, e.g. air getting into the slurry; choice of slurry additives.
