features and Benefits
FLOC BLOCKS are solid blocks of slow release flocculant which
work by releasing into the water stream trace amounts of anionic
polymer chain molecules which act to bind together stone, soil,
clay and chalk fines so that they will settle out rapidly leaving
clear water for disposal or re-use.
Very economical in use. Used in:
- Civil engineering waste water
- Shaft drainage
- Tunnelling and piling
- Quarrying
- Stone working

How To Use
Prepare a secure dosing point, such as a mesh tray, under the
water outfall. Cut 2 number 1" holes in lid. Place block(s) under
the water flow into lagoon etc and observe results. A curdling
effect should be noted. To increase dosage, cut more holes in lid.
Use one or more FLOC BLOCKS per water stream: the optimum number
must be determined by trial and will depend on flow volume, solids
content, and solids type. Normal use would be 1 block up to 3"
outflow diameter; 1 to 2 blocks for 3" to 4" diameter; and 1 block
per inch of diameter thereafter. (For slower flow, fewer blocks are
needed. Blocks will last several days depending on rate of
flow.
Where flow is intermittent, to avoid wastage place product so as
to be wetted when flow is on but dry when flow is off. Note that
sufficient "dwell time" - i.e. volume storage - must be provided to
allow the flocculated solids to settle. In general, flocculated
solids directed into a larger water body will settle to the bottom
rather than re-disperse. For higher solids content, a second dosing
point further downstream is often useful.
Safety
Non toxic, safe in use. Contains anionic polyacrylamide . This
material adheres to colloidal particles and if applied correctly is
not carried over into the clarified water stream.
Format
Cationic Polymer Blocks.
Special recipe Floc Blocks are available on request for more
difficult effluent.
